Wild Chile

From the cold and frightful waters of Tierra del Fuego and the Antarctic Peninsula, to the frozen steppe of Patagonia, we follow the animals that live on the edge of existence, having to survive in one of the most extreme environments on the planet.

Chile is at the mercy of the climate systems that have shaped the nation. In the south, the strong winds from the west bring rains that create rich green Valdivian forests that lather the Neotropical ecozone.

At its northern end, the driest desert in the world separates the country from the rest of South America. Here, in the Atacama Desert, wildlife has spent millions of years adapting to a life without water.
