Total Blackout is an American game show airing on Syfy which features contestants that have to complete challenges such as: identifying things with either their hands, nose, or mouth; gathering items; or getting from point A to Point B while being totally in the dark. The host of the show is Jaleel White, known for roles like Urkel on the sitcom Family Matters, and Sonic the Hedgehog in three animated shows. Each episode has four players competing to win $5,000. On occasion, episodes will feature four teams of two. The player or team who either takes the longest to do a certain task or identifies the fewest items in the allowed time is eliminated at the end of each round. The show was renewed for a second season by SyFy that started on October 30, 2012. The show aired first in Denmark on Kanal 5, where Uffe Holm was host of the show.

Contestants face their fears and take on challenges in total darkness in the debut of the game-show series.

2. 2 Heads Are Blinder Than 1

Four couples confront their fears in total darkness.

3. Touch, Sniff, & Transfer

The players must identify items by scent and do their best not to disturb a sleeping critter.

4. Good With Your Hands, Good With Your Nose

The Food Chain. Animals are arranged according to their place in the food chain.

5. Lick, Limbo, Lather & Repeat

Items must be identified by taste. Also: The finalists bathe with fearsome things.

6. Buddy System

Coffins, pitfalls and poison play roles in challenges.

7. Fear Is Served

With a metal glove strapped to their hands, the contestants must seek through four cages, each containing its own animal, to see which one will be eating the slab of meat strapped to one palm, also using only their hands, they must guess the weight of four unknown objects

8. Jump Around

Using only their sense of timing, the contestants must jump over an automated stick that is shooting right for their shins then, sitting in a tub of cold water, the contestants must correctly identify three items that are dumped on them.
