The Noose is a parody of local news programmes such as News 5 Tonight, with fictional news reports and a presentation mimicking that of the real news. For example, every episode of News 5 Tonight begins with a CGI clock indicating the time, while every episode of the first two seasons of The Noose would spoof it by displaying the time using something more mundane, such as a plastic clock hanging on a wall. At the beginning of every episode, there is a candid disclaimer telling the viewer that the stories are not true. Each episode stars Michelle Chong, Chua En Lai, Alaric Tay and Suhaimi Yusof, with various actors and actresses as newscasters and interviewees, often with parodic mannerisms and names.

It is NOT the news. Irreverent, hilarious and totally outrageous, The Noose is a brand-new comedy variety programme which spoofs television news. Starring talented comedians Gurmit Singh and Michelle Chong as newscasters Roy Terse and Adrianna Wow, The Noose features news parodies which incorporates real news footage. In a format which follows the nightly newscast format, the straitlaced Roy and the bimbotic Adrianna are joined by an equally dubious team of "roving reporters" played by Chua Enlai and Alaric Tay.

Mental health awareness gets a boost, a GST hike is expected and a new type of surgery is performed with success.

2. Episode 2

Singapore guns to join the space race, elders hijack video game arcades and vigilance on terrorism increases.

3. Episode 3

Orchard Towers may be set for demolition while crime rages throughout Singapore, not helped by cartels investing in the country.

4. Episode 4

Apple sues local electronics giant OhSeem for copyright infringement, a bullfighting ring is set to be built and the list of suspected terrorists is on the rise.

5. Episode 5

2 December 2007 ERP prices are jacked up, Singapore Airlines makes a strange request and a lady trespasses into a studio to plead her case.

6. Episode 6

The end of the weekend is near, the retirement age is raised and a new taxi operator is set up to provide budget taxi services.

7. Episode 7

Orchard Road is slated for a makeover, a day in the life of a British expatriate road sweeper and a new type of breast augmentation is pioneered.

8. Episode 8

The Cleanest Estate Competition is planned to be restarted, clubs under fire for discrimination due to looks and an underground top-secret pre-infant education facility springs up.
