Project Runway Australia is a reality television show based on the American program Project Runway, wherein fashion designers residing in Australia compete by making specific garments for weekly challenges. The show features Megan Gale as the host, and Peter Morrissey and Claudia Navone as judges. Alex Perry acts as a mentor to the contestants, as Tim Gunn does in the American version. Production began in May 2008, and the show premiered on Arena 8.30 p.m. Monday 7 July 2008. The prizes for the winner of Project Runway Australia included what is described as "$100,000 opportunity" to create their own fashion line to show in Melbourne Fashion Week, a new car, the model of which changes throughout the seasons, and having their clothes displayed in a six-page spread in Madison magazine.

1. Episode 1

The premiere episode of Project Runway Australia kicked off with the twelve designers introducing themselves.

2. Episode 2

In this episode, Henry brought the designers to St. Kilda's Beach to draw inspiration from the beach for the Australian lifestyle of hanging out at the beach and partying at bars in the night. The designers had to create a garment that was versatile enough to be used at the beach and at the bar as well. For this task, they had 7 hours in the work room.

3. Episode 3

The designers must make sporty, yet racy separates from materials out of the back of the cars.

4. Episode 4

The designers must design a garment to be worn to the Brownlow Medal awards.

5. Episode 5

The designers have to design an outfit inspired by 1960s European fashion and compliments the Loreal make up collection, Angelic.

6. Episode 6

The designers must design a tailored winter look for winter using only white fabrics for the eliminated designers.

7. Episode 7

Singer Kelly Rowland is the client for this week's challenge- to create a glamorous, yet sexy outfit for her to wear onstage.

8. Episode 8

The remaining five designers are asked to create a day to night outfit for the Basque range of Myer's.

9. Episode 9

In this episode the designers were driven to a church in a luxury car. The challenge was initially, to create a wedding dress which could be used as a final, show stopping dress on any runway. The contestants were given 15 minutes and 500 AUD to choose their fabrics.
