On Location is a series from Home Box Office. The series premiered in 1976 and features stand-up comedy with George Carlin, David Brenner, Redd Foxx, Rich Little, Robin Williams, Phyllis Diller, Buddy Hackett, Billy Crystal, Pat Cooper and more. In addition to showing select comedians, On Location featured comedy shows such as the annual Young Comedians Show, comedy club shows and more. From 1982 to 1986, a version of the "HBO In Space" program opening sequence was used to introduce the series.

1. An Evening with Robert Klein

Premiere of this series of performing arts programs. This program features comedian Robert Klein performing at Haverford College in Haverford, Pa. Klein pokes fun the following topics: "The Tonight Show"; horror films; college concerts; his college days at Alfred University; bad singers and microphone technique; Yale dancing school; abnormal psychology courses; going to a rural college; anti-semitism; Evelyn Wood speed-reading courses; football games; sports figures; and animals. Klein then whistles "Yesterday"; parodies a Jamaican tourism commercial; improvises a song entitled "Are Cows Dumb?"; talks about dentists; and sings "I Can't Stop My Leg" accompanying himself on harmonica.

2. George Carlin: On Location at USC

George Carlin’s first ever comedy special, filmed live at the University of Southern California. Here, he talks about monopoly, flying on planes, random thoughts, walking, and other things.

4. Carlin at Carnegie

Taped before a sold-out house at New York City's Carnegie Hall, the performance represents a creative resurgence for Carlin, following a heart attack earlier that year. He ignites the stage with unique perceptions and his outrageous physical comedy, employing along the way his well-honed powers of mimicry, The routines include: Rice Krispies, Newscast #3, Have a Nice Day, Ice-Box Man, Fussy Eater, Dogs & Cats #2 and Over 200 Filthy Words and Phrases.
