Matt Baker: Travels with Mum and Dad will take viewers on a breathtaking trip around the North East, where the Bakers are lucky enough to have some of the country’s most beautiful sites on their doorstep. They’ll be reliving old memories, making new ones, and most importantly, making time for each other. With the demands of rural life and their animals, Janice and Mike have barely spent a night away from the farm so Matt’s keen to give them day trips to remember within easy reach of the home.

1. Bamburgh Castle

Matt Baker takes his mum Janice and dad Mike on some memorable excursions around the North East, as they go behind the scenes at Bamburgh Castle.

2. Beamish Living Museum

The Bakers visit the Beamish Living Museum, where Matt gets a crash course in driving a 1900s tram and sees how an entire farmhouse has been moved stone by stone. Janice gets to take a Shetland pit-pony for a walk and the family get a busman's holiday lending a hand with some stubborn pigs on a 1940s farm.

3. Durham Cathedral

The Bakers head to the World Heritage listed Durham Cathedral for an unforgettable behind-the-scenes trip. Matt goes on an underwater treasure hunt, and the whole family try out as choristers.

4. Hexham

The Bakers head to Hexham, home to one of the UK's most scenic racecourses. After getting a rare glimpse into the world of the colourful characters involved in race day, Matt is off to the stables and saddles up for a ride on a winning horse.
