From the Basement made its debut last December as download only, but TV stations around the world soon came calling and now a six part series has been recorded. The first series features intimate live performances The White Stripes, Beck, Sonic Youth, Super Furry Animals, Damien Rice and many others!

1. White Stripes, The Shins and Neil Hannon of The Divine Comedy

Nigel Godrich opens this inaugural series with three very special performances. The incredible White Stripes perform 5 songs, including Ugly As I Seem and Red Rain. The Shins from Portland, Oregon play a selection of tracks from their new critically acclaimed album 'Wincing The Night Away' and Neil Hannon, of Divine Comedy fame delights too. From The Basement begins as it means to go on.

2. Thom Yorke, Albert Hammond Jnr and Envelopes

Just another week in the basement: another evening of awe inspiring live performances await. Thom Yorke performs on the piano, Albert Hammond Jnr shines bright and newcomers the Envelopes make their mark. One of Thom Yorke's four songs is 'Last Flowers', an as yet unreleased Radiohead track. Enjoy.

3. Beck and Jarvis Cocker

Beck, Jarvis and Jamie. Beck and Nigel Godrich re-unite with four wonderful performances of tracks from the 'The Information' longplayer, including 'Think I'm In Love' and 'Cellphone's Dead'. Jarvis Cocker takes the stage and electrifies as always with four tracks from his debut solo album 'Jarvis' and Warp's Jamie Lidell gives another blistering performance.

6. Damien Rice, E from Eels, Autolux and Architecture in Helsinki

We leave our London base for a trip to Bob Clearmountain's Berkeley Street Studio in Los Angeles for the finale of the first series of From The Basement. Damien Rice loves the experience so much he can't stop smiling. E from The Eels decides to perform a host of incredible new songs, and Autolux decide to follow suit. Architecture In Helsinki are just a delight. It's the end of the beginning.
