1. Spaghetti Western

The genre of the first episode of De kijk van Koolhoven is spaghetti western, the crude Italian version of the western, that originates from the nineteen seventies.

2. Water and boats

The second episode of De kijk van Koolhoven doesn't have a genre, but a theme: water and boats. Writing a boat in a film is asking for trouble, but therefore no less fun.

3. Eurohorror

The third episode of De kijk van Koolhoven focusses on horror, and more specifically the European variant, eurohorror, which traditionally is just a little nastier.

4. Post-apocalyptic film

When The Road Warrior by George Miller, the sequel to Mad Max, came out in 1981, it became a major world wide success. A new genre was born: the post apocalyptic film
