Season 1 (6 Episodes)
Handsome, young vicar Sidney Chambers shares his spiritual duties with a love of jazz, complicated relationships with women, and an enthusiasm for amateur sleuthing. When the concern of a parishioner compels him to dig deeper into a grisly suicide, he gets on the nerve of a tired, local law enforcement officer—Inspector Geordie Keating. Fortunately, the cleric and the cop bond over their war service, their love of a good pub, and their competitive instincts—in this case, for backgammon.
Season 2 (6 Episodes)
The burning issues of post–World War II Britain provide the backdrop to the new season's cases: class conflict, the death penalty, homosexuality, the looming sexual revolution, the communist threat, rationing, and the persistent effects of combat on war veterans such as Sidney and Geordie, who are just trying to get on with their lives and make society safe, secure, and a bit fun.
Season 3 (6 Episodes)
Season 4 (6 Episodes)
It's 1956, and Elvis Presley has Geordie grumbling about the decline of decency, while mold in the vestry has Mrs. Chapman grumbling about baking soda vs. vinegar. But it's action, not grousing, that Sidney craves, and when an African American reverend arrives to speak about religion's role in the civil rights movement, Sidney finds inspiration…and perhaps something more!
Season 5 (6 Episodes)
It's 1957, and Will Davenport has settled into his role as the vicar of Grantchester, preaching to a packed church. His best friend, Detective Inspector Geordie Keating, has come to accept his wife Cathy's commitment to her job – just about. Mrs C. happily juggles her roles as the vicarage housekeeper and being a well-to-do married woman, and after a trip to Marrakech, even Leonard has managed to carve out some happiness with Daniel. But Will's faith will be thoroughly tested as he and Geordie are reminded once more that there's darkness lurking in their little corner of Cambridgeshire...

Almost by necessity this description will include some spoilers. It would be useless to discuss eight seasons without some reveals.
My wife really loves the show. Don’t get me wrong; I also like it, just not as much. To be honest, a weakness I find might even be a strength to her. The plots behin...
