A young man, Peter, returns home in the middle of the night after a long journey. He returns to his home, to his parents. At the same time, he is also returning to his long-term girlfriend, who, during this time, has given birth to their daughter Vita. Peter is determined that his journey has come to the end, and that he will settle down and stay at home. Yet, he quickly realizes that a decision is easier to accept than to actualize it.

Two sons wait for their father on the day he is released from prison. They go duck hunting together, like they did before he was locked up.

When the father announces one day that they will move on to a village, to his new female friend, Julia must accept the fact that she will get a child sister. Jasna, which is the same age as Julia, makes sure that Julia feels well in the village. She is starting to admire her more and more, borrowing her clothes, and trying to be similar to her. Soon Jasna looks like Julia. In pursuit of love, she assumes a new identity...

Father is dying at home. The pastor orders Janez and Marinka to call his son Štefan before he dies. Since father and son are at odds, Janez and Marinka are afraid that Štefan will not want to come. Therefore, at the approaching harvest, they lure him with the lie that his father is already dead. Despite the poor medical prognosis, the father is still alive when his son arrives.

In 2009, a group of military enthusiasts led by the commander France (Gojmir Lešnjak - Gojc) decides to occupy Trieste. The group that stages battles performs it at a completely fictional location. However, this hobby is not to the liking of France's wife Marija (Silva Čušin) and his daughter Mateja (Anja Drnovšek). The daughter as a representative of the young generation has no understanding of her father's enthusiasm for partisans, battles and Tito. France is also confronted by the Slovenian police led by the commander Brane (Dario Varga) as Brane forbids France to stage any more battles ... Will the young generation accept our history and will Trieste be ours?

The film story is based on a time-out when the characters from Vandot's stories about boy Kekec grow up. Rozle becomes the village priest, Mojca goes to work in the city, Bedanec becomes a village dormitory, Kosobrin is a slightly more modern herbalist, and Kekec remains a shepherd, but only slightly grows. Through all the narrative, Kekec wants, and he is very determined, to marry in a short time with Mojca, who is entrusted with his director Feri. A couple of times, they crash into Kosobrin's village after a drop of Mojca's painful eyes. Kosobrin and Bedanec still do not understand best. Bedanec still wants to get rid of Kosobrin's mysterious recipes and Kekec still protects him, but with increasing problems. Kekec's decisiveness, courage, and strength were broken by his unheard-of love towards Mojca. All this illness can only relieve the true flower.

Aleksander is a man with a successful career. He is on his way to take his eleven-year-old son to music school, but Jan doesn’t wait for his father where he is supposed to. Instead, he is taking a shower, still dirty from playing football.

Stane and Bojan are two young people, working at a kiosk. They try to break the boredom and repetitiveness of their daily routines by observing their potential customers, trying to guess their consumer appetites and by doing drugs. When a junkie breaks into the kiosk and disturbs their daydreaming, the potential for a change ensues.

Jože and Milena are facing marital problems. Milena is convinced that she is fat, and Jože is a fan of NK Barcelona. Their marriage can only be solved by "aerobics".

Veronica is full of life, as befits a ten-year-old girl. However, when she accompanies her grandmother to the oncology institute together with her mother and older sister, she slowly begins to understand that life can sometimes be bitter.
