It exposes kids from ages 1 year/12 months old and up to the numbers 1 through 5 in a way that encourages them to count out loud. The video's counterpart books are See and Spy Counting and Neighborhood Numbers.

Baby Neptune: Discovering Water is the 11th video in the Baby Einstein series, and it focuses mainly on water in various locations. This was the first Baby Einstein video where Julie Aigner-Clark, the creator of Baby Einstein, was not involved at all in production, which was present until Clark wrote poems and did the dialogue of Numbers Nursery. The DVD was later released in late 2001. It was last re-released in Late-2004, with many alterations.
