Ramanunni, who was the MLA of revolutionary party CDP, crosses over to the opposition as their candidate for the by-election. He procures a revolver and when one of his arch-enemies is gunned down, Ramanunni becomes the suspect. The protagonist's attempt to wriggle out of the wrangle forms the rest of the plot.

Appu is a young homestay owner in Goa. He lives with his father, mother and younger sister. His father Baba is a retired goon who got tricked and surpassed by Abusi one of his followers. Amidst all the problems caused by his friend Macroni, Baba and Abusi, a young Malayali girl Zaya comes into his life on a Russian New Year eve. How her relationship with Appu affects his life is the soul of the film.

Mithun Madhavan (Mohanlal) appears as a Mumbai-based Information Technology industrialist but a psychologist in reality. Priyan (Indrajith) is a software engineer working under Mithun. Priyan is in love with his uncle's daughter Dhwani (Parvathi) who was born and brought up in Chennai. The rest of the story deals with the disturbing events in Dhwani's life and how Mithun helps her overcome those.
