Two thousand years into the future, the battlefleet from Earth is still searching for the Planet Zog. Those on board are irreconcilably divided between those that believe the Planet Zog exists, and those that don't. Caught between these warring factions Ade and Eva Hokum are determined to find happiness with each other. Will the Planet Zog be a paradise for them?

A Hungarian youth comes of age at Buchenwald during World War II. György Köves is 14, the son of a merchant who's sent to a forced labor camp. After his father's departure, György gets a job at a brickyard; his bus is stopped and its Jewish occupants sent to camps. There, György find camaraderie, suffering, cruelty, illness, and death. He hears advice on preserving one's dignity and self-esteem. He discovers hatred. If he does survive and returns to Budapest, what will he find? What is natural; what is it to be a Jew? The film tells the story of a tree that during the course of the year receives a rather radical pruning of its foliage. In the course of this simple story we go through the four seasons of the year; The transfer from season to season is accentuated by the music, as well as by the change of colors from silent grays of the winter to vivid green in the summer. The comic effect in the film is achieved by the contrast between the lazy and sleepy character of the tree and the active and jumpy character of the barber.

One day, a little mole discovers that all of the other animals have a friend of their same species to play with, but the mole is all alone and very sad. To make matters worse, all the food is starting to rebel. A fat earthworm escapes in a hurry, right under the mole's nose. The hunt inside the tunnels begins! Finally the earthworm is caught, but just as the mole is about to bite down, he realises that it's not an earthworm but another mole's tail. Now that they've found each other, there's a happy ending under the molehill.
